Artists-in-Residence join the Social Sculpture that is our Community of Artmonks. This is an ideal container in which to devote yourself to your own artmaking practice, with the support of a community entirely geared towards spiritual and artistic focus. Artists-in-Residence are invited to participate in the Art Monastery’s daily meditation and movement practices, weekly ceremonies and rituals, creative share and feedback sessions, and all group meals. Depending on the other works-in-progress during the time of your stay, there may be opportunities for collaboration with other Artmonks, but for this program it is expected that you come with a primary focus on solo work.

The Art Monastery hosts visiting artists of all disciplines. Work spaces are available for noisemaking and for quiet, visual art studio space, and dance/theater movement space, in addition to the excellent outdoors landscape of our Vermont location.
