Brought To My Knees Moon

The war
In our hearts
Goes on.

Small faraway moon—
We are blessed beyond
The sayable.

And still I confess,
The pain of compassion
Interrupts another day.

The vast dark infinite,
Hummingbird lightning.
This seed of peace...

Is there a secret
Buried in the sky?

Dear faraway moon,
Send a drink
Of milk—
Warm as spring.

Thank you.
I’m sorry.
I love you.
