Packing List
Packing List for the
Artmonk Retreat & Art Residencies
Our recommendations for what to bring
- Comfortable layered clothing for sitting meditation
- Comfortable clothing you can move in for yoga & embodiment classes
- Clothing that can get dirty for helping in the kitchen and/or in the garden (all Art Monastery participants & guests help out in the kitchen for an hour each day. Thank you for truly being a part of our living community!)
- Slip-on shoes (It’s a shoes-off house! You may enjoy having slippers as well.)
- Medications such as allergy medicine (We have a cat.)
- Meditation wrap (In warm weather we sit outside and you might like to have a light wrap to shield from insects. In rainy or cold weather, we sit in the barn and you might like a wrap to stay warm and cozy.)
- Rain coat / jacket (It may get chilly and we usually go for a hike.)
- Any and all art supplies and acoustic musical instruments you would like to work with
- Journal / Notebook, pens & pencils
- Optional swim suit. (Swimming in the river is refreshingly cold and wonderful! We invite swimming without suits as well.)
- Bathrobe (it is just lovely to stroll down to the river wearing a robe!)
- An alarm clock other than your phone (you may also like to have a watch other than your phone.)
- Meditation cushion, support cushions, and/or yoga mat (We have some but you may prefer your own.)
- Towel and bed pillow (We provide one per person but you may prefer your own.)
- Water bottle and/or travel mug
- Printed and signed Liability Waiver (or, even better, you can email it to info@artmonastery.org)
