Share the Love Tour, 2011
Our core of Permamonks (those of us living in Italy) gathered post-retreat for our ‘Share The Love Tour’ fundraising roadtrip across America. Sometimes doing events together, sometimes sharing the load apart, we covered the west, south, and east of the United States over 2 months. Each event felt different. The huge warehouse space of Big Art Labs in Los Angeles saw a large turnout enjoy discussions, meditation, Puttanesca pasta, and noisy rock excerpts from the Burning Opera. Santa Barbara was more social at Red’s Cafe, with original acoustic songs. Seattle spanned early music to bluegrass and much in between at the aptly named Church of Base H’Art Center, as well as another invite-only black tie dinner. Portland, oh Portland; an intimate yet large house gathering for an incredible open artist night. San Francisco, a huge party with original bands at Rickshaw Stop. Events in New Orleans, Chicago, Detroit, Bloomington, and New York continued to spread the call for people to know about, come to, and experience the Art Monastery in Italy. Or, through local Chapters set up across the US. As our Artmonk collective continues to grow, we invite you to share your work, be inspired by each other, and continue to shine between worlds.
Mille grazie to all those who helped. Those who came along. Those who held us when we were tired, fed us when we were in need, and shared smiles when we were exhausted. Thank you. It’s all for you.
